Biomass grows more quickly and cheaply in equatorial regions than in our more temperate climes. LBL is doing some interesting research on using biotech to improve the efficiency of biomass to fuel conversion, however, but that would also benefit equatorial regions. Finally, a source of competitive advantage for Africa?


Could be.

There are a number of ways Africa and other parts of the world may pass the longer-developed west. For example, Rwanda is trying to leapfrog everybody:


Then there's Tulsi Tanti, #562 on Forbes' list of the world's richest people. His country? India. His game? Wind power.
