For the first time in 136 years, the Mexican Army entered Texas today. Once again they headed for San Antonio, but this time they did not attack the Alamo. Instead, they carried two mobile kitchens that can feed seven thousand people a day, and provisions to do so for three weeks. Mexico also sent a relief ship to Mississippi.
I'd like to commend the Mexican military, government, and people for this action.
I wish I could say the same for all the levels of the U.S. governments, especially the federal, that Hurricane Katrina become the worst disaster to hit the United States since the north and south fought each other 140 years ago. Not all, of course; for example, the National Weather Service was on the ball: "Most of the area will be uninhabitable for weeks, perhaps longer", and the Coast Guard did commendable rescue work from the start. But where was the Army Corps of Engineers with a plan to fix a broken levee, and where was FEMA with coordination of relief efforts?
Negligence is not security.

I would like to bring up the question...why has the media not televised this event? Why haven't Americans recognized the Mexican effort of helping the Americans in such a difficult time? Why are they hiding this fact to protect their reputation and power authority? Is this the media or is this an order from above?
