Just an update and question for Valdosta...

You quote the population of Jax as 3/4 Million, as it sits today, the metro area is just under 1.4 Million. The new port facilities are causing some 4,000 new residents per month to move to the City and the port is being called "The Port of Gold" by the shipping lines around the world. Something huge is in the wind.

I may soon be directing the laying of streetcar track in Jacksonville. As a transportation official, I'd be very happy to learn of your group and support for a Valdosta-Jax commuter or local passenger train service. My Goal is to go after both GA and FL funding to recreate the old Royal Palm, Ponce De Leon and Royal Poinciana Route. If you have connections with a railroad group or City, County or State officials, perhaps we could work to pull them together.tim

Your certainly welcome to anything in the bog, anywhere, any time, and thank you for the kind words.

Jacksonville Traction Company
